The Bridging the Gap program is an anti-recidivism program for youth and young adults who have been incarcerated. Through this program, participants receive guidance in obtaining employment, furthering their education and securing housing.
Through the Creative Outlet program, youth in elementary school through high school who are struggling with feelings of stress and anxiety, have a judgement free, safe and supportive environment where they can express themselves verbally, artistically and through dance. Participants learn to manage and reduce their stress through coping strategies and building resilience.
The eNOugh! program increases awareness of dating violence and intimate partner violence among youth and young adults. This program reduces their risk of becoming victims of violence through education, advocacy, promotion of healthy relationships and providing access to community resources.
Through the Health is Wealth program, youth ages 12-18 receive guidance on how to improve their health through nutrition, physical activity and other health related activities so that they can have positive health outcomes. The participants establish a supportive network and participate in sessions regarding building healthy relationships, establishing effective communication skills, setting healthy barriers and stress management. High school seniors have the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship, participate in personal trainer prep classes and be trained in First Aid/CPR.
The Path to Prosperity program educates high school seniors and juniors in North Carolina on career prep, money management principles and financial literacy concepts. Participants develop interview and time management skills, receive support in creating their personal brand and learn professional skills that will last a lifetime.
Through the Planted Seeds program, GLN forms partnerships with organizations and schools in under-served communities in North Carolina, Africa and the Caribbean. Through these partnerships, GLN ensures that the students are adequately equipped with the school supplies and other resources necessary to succeed academically. Through this program, youth in elementary school have the option to be paired with a reading tutor to help improve their reading comprehension and fluency.
